1. Nothing is impossible with God
2. God wants us to be happy
3. God cares for all aspects of our life. Things big or small
4. God is bigger than our circumstances.
I was in pessimism for over 3 years because my circumstances and past made me believe life was meant to be Empty. I realized that my mind was in a small type of prison and I just couldn't bear living 5 more years with this attitude. Christ return felt like the only solution for me. God then showed me verses in the Word that showed me why I was wrong in my thinking.
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.
I love how the KJV puts this verse. It was exactly how I felt. I could have never beat depression if I didn't believe I would see blessings in this life.
Even though I had the truth, I was still blinded by something as simple as the Importance of Faith. I had to go back to the basics.
There is no limit to what God can do in our life. He is only limited by our faith. When He promises something we should celebrate the blessings before we even receive.
When the children of Israel were trying to enter the promise land they became afraid of the giants. Fear and doubt made them lose out. When Peter walked on water He looked at the circumstances and started to sink. It's what's in our mind that decides if we obtain the promises.
I walked by sight in the past and was only happy when things were going good. If I would have walked by faith my circumstances wouldn't been able to control me. Christ wants his Peace and Joy to remain with us no matter what's going on in our life.
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
This verse right here gave me the courage to confront my biggest fear. I knew that no matter what happens this verse would be the end result when God is finish
The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
We won't lack anything when God is finished.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
A lot of students had me thinking that I just had to endure and just have peace. But here God is saying ask for something that will make our joy full. Yes this includes asking for things like a Spouse or a baby.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us
This verse made me Ask for things I thought for the longest time were dead. I started asking God for big things. Because I realize that He isn't just all powerful for when we get to Heaven but He is all powerful now.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Knowing this we don't have to feel like our lives our random. I have so much peace knowing this.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.
No more thinking about the good old days. The present is the best.
9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
God says that a mate is our portion in this life. If God says live joyfully with your mate then it's possible to have a happy marriage.
Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
The companion Bible shows that expected end should be translated as an ending that's hoped for. How exciting, God won't leave you in depression. He has victory for every Christian life.
If you all remember any of my post from far back you can see how low my life was. Once I became optimistic about life and believed in all these promises it was only natural that my circumstances got better. I can truly say that I don't lack any good thing. I have a great job. Great friendships and relationships. I have goals again like I did when younger. And the best part is not the things I'm blessed with. The best part is knowing that The God who loves me more than I can imagine gets the final say in everything I ask for. How can we not be happy when the victory is already won. Christ did the Hardest part of all eternity on the cross. Psalms 23 gives us everything we can even desire in this life
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
There you have it. Christ tells us to be optimistic because He is Bigger than any problem we can ever face.
