I've never known you, it's been 47 years ago today,
That I became a part of your life, then you went away.
Does it ever cross your mind, a little girl you had born,
That grew up without a mother, alone, tattered and torn.
Many times I've thought of you, many times I did cry,
For the what we could have shared, but instead it was goodbye,
Today I will pray to God that you don't remember me,
It's better to forget sometimes, or at least it seems to be.
