Before I joined the Chapel, I listened to every TV evangelist and checked out virtually every church. Frankly, I found everyone else to be second best when it came to Biblical understanding. Pastor Murray, Dennis and David to a lesser extent, did what no other church or evangelist stressed. And that is, they stressed reading the Word. It's truly disheartening, just how many churches and evangelists preach and don't TEACH the Word and then only the parts that aren't controversial. I don't worship PM either, but he does bring help to bring out the true colurs of the Word that were always there and PM makes the Word vibrant, exciting and entertaining; the way it used to be taught and was always supposed to be taught: chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Over the years I have begun to spend less attention to my own understanding of the Word and let the Word do the talking for itself because as the Word says:

Pro 3:5, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

I believe the Word says this because as individuals, we are inclined to give varying opinions, and with many personal human opinions comes confusion. As long as the parameters and the borders of interpretation are within God's Word, then we don't have to resort to our own understanding because as Jesus says:

Mk 13:23, But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

Over the last few years, though I do study the Word in-depth and intensely at times, I try to read the Word simply for pleasure. PM and SC have helped me to achieve that peaceful understanding through our Father, that years ago was beyond my horizon. If more churches, like SC, actually broke down the Word into it's component parts and rightfully divided it, there would be a lot more Christians and a lot less ignorance. But, Biblical illiteracy and ignorance are definite signs of the times. God bless Pastor Murray and SC.
