I've been wanting to do a study on the Ark of the Covenant/Testament. I feel like all the materials and colors have a meaning within it. As always we find this. Also, I think it's a good idea to go from the beginning (before the Ark is actually put together) because each step is important to the next. In the first verses FATHER asks us for an offering from the heart and that is where it should begin. Well, the last few posts I've seen really drive me to feel as if this is a study we should do together. Maybe... that's why I haven't gotten into this study yet? So... I'm praying on this, in that we will all grow together in this study. Everyone, whether someone has added something to the study... post what you find in it. Exodus Chapter 25 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering. The three words, brass, bronze, and copper, are oftened used interchangeably in various English translations. When the ark of Noah is described, we're not given a detailed description of it's appearance, but of it's construction. Similar to a blue print layout of a structure or building. The same can be applied to the ark. When the Hebrews first think of the materials used in the construction of the ark, they immediately associate the material with it's quality. Silver, as Irishrain pointed out, never tarnishes unless sulfur is present. Gold was naturally chosen due to it never tarnishes either, and because of it's more scarce stock. Brass, which was bronze or copper was chosen of course due to its durability, *Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum.*
