Here is a little study been working on.
Threshing Floor
Harvesting process began with cutting of grain with a sickle (Deut 16:9, Mark 4:29). Then it was gathered into sheaves(Deut 24:5). Next the grain was taken to the threshing floor, an important local site with a hard surface and often situated on high ground. Various tools, such as metal toothed sledges drawn by oxen, were use for the threshing (Isa 28:28, 41:15).
Then the grain was winnowed, or tossed in the air, with a pitchfork. The Wind carried off the chaff, but the heavier kernels and straw fell to the ground (Matt 3:12.) Nelson's Bible dictionary
After some thought, there is no accident that YHVH picked the place. It started with Gen 22 where Abraham was to go up on Mt Moriah and build on altar and offer up Issac his son but GOD provided a ram.
Which is the same place that David set up an altar in the threshing foor of Ornan the Jebusite. Why a threshingfloor? Because of future events.
1Ch 21:18 Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
1Ch 21:19And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spake in the name of the LORD.
1Ch 21:20And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.
1Ch 21:21And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshingfloor, and bowed himself to David with [his] face to the ground.
1Ch 21:22Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of [this] threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.

1Ch 21:23And Ornan said unto David, Take [it] to thee, and let my lord the king do [that which is] good in his eyes: lo, I give [thee] the oxen [also] for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat offering; I give it all.
1Ch 21:24And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take [that] which [is] thine for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.
An offering without price or sacrifice has no value, so David bought the threshing floor

1Ch 21:25So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.

2Ch 3:1Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where [the LORD] appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
Same place as Dome of the Rock.
The analogy of wheat getting threshed, but who will thresh who?
Isa 41:14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, [and] ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
Isa 41:15 Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat [them] small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.

Isa 41:16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, [and] shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
the wind, symbolic of the HOLY SPIRIT
Wheat in the threshing floor is the same kind of analogy as grapes(people) in the winepress (Rev 14).
Joe 3:13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness [is] great.
Joe 3:14Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD [is] near in the valley of decision.
Mic 4:12But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.
Mic 4:13Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
Daughter of Zion, those elect that know the TRUTH
"thou shalt beat", with the sword of the LORD, the TRUTH.
Dan 2:34Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet [that were] of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
Dan 2:35Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Who gets threshed?
Jer 51:33 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon [is] like a threshingfloor, [it is] time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.
"daughter of Babylon," of confusion, those that follow satan, his one world system (Rev 13), with be threshed with TRUTH. The wheat separated from the chaff Matt 13:30.
That hard rock floor used for threshing of grain, Spiritually is the Stone cut without hands. CHRIST, the WORD of GOD coming our of the Elects mouths.
When satan sits (Ths 2) on our threshing floor, Dome of the Rock, the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite that King David bought. Where Solomon built God's house. Same place, a place to thresh.
