Psalm 128:1 Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. We know that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. What is the end of wisdom? Obedience? Mat 7:24-25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. Jhn 14:23-24 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. So the wise man is one who fears (respect) the Lord, love equals obedience. Jhn 14:23-24 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. So why does wisdom make men happy? Dan 12:9-10 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. Only the wise shall understand the words that were sealed up til the time of the end. So the wise will be able to understand prophecy and not be found as one who is not watching. Mat 24:42-43 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. How does one know when (what watch) by being wise Mat 24:44-45 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Mat 24:46 Blessed [is] that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
