I see the logic behind your thinking Abbzeq. Indeed, it's common for people to vote for other represenatives and senators who are from the same party as the presidential candidate whom they're voting for. However, we need to remember our morals here when it comes to our voting. It's about more than simple ecenomics (which isn't McCain's strong point anyways).

Something within me is bothered by John McCain. I think the following link might help:

This link will take you to John McCain's standpoint concerning Iraq. I want you to carefully read what he states, and observe the following from the very first paragraph:

"A greater military commitment now is necessary if we are to achieve long-term success in Iraq. John McCain agrees with retired Army General Jack Keane that there are simply not enough American forces in Iraq. More troops are necessary to clear and hold insurgent strongholds; to provide security for rebuilding local institutions and economies; to halt sectarian violence in Baghdad and disarm Sunni and Shia militias; to dismantle al Qaeda; to train the Iraqi Army; and to embed American personnel in Iraqi police units. Accomplishing each of these goals will require more troops and is a crucial prerequisite for needed economic and political development in the country. America's ultimate strategy is to give Iraqis the capabilities to govern and secure their own country."

Tell me, when you read that......what is the first thing that comes to mind ? How does John McCain plan to increase the amount of troops in Iraq when we're stretched thin as it is ? How does he plan on having a "long term" military setup in Iraq ? Well, for one thing we've already built 14 bases in Iraq. However, that doesn't help to increase troop numbers. How does he plan on getting more troops than what we have to offer ? The word "draft" comes to mind. Sure, McCain can't enact a draft without the approval of congress, but something tells me if McCain is elected, he would be willing to sign a draft bill no problem.

I also noticed the following in his "win the homefront" paragraph :

"If efforts in Iraq do not retain the support of the American people, the war will be lost as soundly as if our forces were defeated in battle. A renewed effort at home starts with explaining precisely what is at stake in this war to ensure that Americans fully understand the high cost of a military defeat. The war in Iraq is at a crossroads and the future of the entire region is at stake - a region that produced the terrorists who attacked America on 9/11 and where much of the world's energy supplies are located. Success is essential to creating peace in the region, and failure would expose the United States to national security threats for generations. Defeat in the war would lead to much more violence in Iraq, greatly embolden Iran, undermine U.S. allies such as Israel, likely lead to wider conflict, result in a terrorist safe haven in the heart of the Middle East, and gravely damage U.S. credibility throughout the world."

Funny how he brings up "the worlds energy supplies. Did this man ever hear of the ANWR province, and drilling for oil on our own shores and land ? That would solve all the of the issues of high prices for foreign petroleum.

Use of unspoiled and natural resources ? You mean like the millions of gallons of oil we have in the ground on our own soil, but we won't use it because of "green peace" people who believe in the global warming myth like John McCain ? McCain voted against drilling for oil in the ANWR province. McCain's track record speaks for itself.

Let's also not forget that John McCain co-sponsored the McCain-Kennedy bill, which was to "fine" illegal immigrants, and then put them on the path to amnesty. The majority of the people in this nation do NOT want illegal immigrants to be granted amnesty, but this man was all for it. Again, his record of voting speaks for itself.

I agree with your main point abbzeq. Indeed, McCain does appear to be the lesser of the two evils. Even though he's pro-war, and probably pro-draft, still, he wouldn't let the country fall, and if war were to break out he would be the more experienced of the 3 candidates. However, I don't believe that Obama will win. Reasons ?

1. Hillary Clinton may "appear" to be the weaker candidate for the democratic party, but in a national election she is the stronger of the two. Obama will lose to McCain, where as Hillary Clinton would probably beat McCain. The reason for this logic is simple. Hillary appeals to a broader audience than does McCain or Obama. Hillary Clinton would be able to draw the elderly vote, the feminine vote, the hispanic vote, as well as the liberal republican and blue collar vote. McCain and Obama do not appeal to that many different audiences on a large scale.

2. If a terrorist attack happens between now and November, then McCain will have a strong support base. People will see him as the choice leader in a pro-war and anti-terrorist stance. This might be what is fixing to happen within the next 4 or so weeks.

3. I honestly don't see how God will allow Obama to become president. I truly just do not see it. We're too far along in prophecy to have any serious set backs that a man like Obama will bring. I just don't see it happening.

If Obama beats Hillary, then McCain will become president, and Hillary will help McCain. Why would Hillary help McCain ? Simple. Hillary Clinton knows that she is now heading into her 60's. She can NOT wait 8 years to run for president again. She could stand to wait for 4 years, but not 8. If she were to help McCain become president, then she could come back in 4 years to run against him on the democratic ticket. She could use the failure of Obama as a reminder of why the democratic party needs her, and it would work.

I've believed for sometime now that Hillary Clinton is meant to be our LAST president before the comming of Satan as anti-christ. I truly believe that.
