I would like to share some notes take from Pastor Dennis Murray's study entitled "The Third Influx - PO '03" #31513 and Pastor Arnold
Murray's studies on Joel chapters 1 & 2.

Joel means "YHVH is GOD". The book of Joel is not dated, the only date we are given is the Lord's Day, the millennium. This book is a warning for us in these end times.
1:1 The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
Pethuel means "the vision of God" Pethuel was not a prophet but this lets us know which Joel is scribing.
1:2 Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
Nothing has happened like what is about to be told.
Old men, elders that are supposedly wise, everyone listen to what will happen in the future.
1:3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
Umbilical cord to Umbilical cord up the Lord's Day, the seventh trump.
God promised the remant that the truth will be passed down generation through generation.
1:4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
Four stages of the locusts. See Revelation 9 where it speaks of the locust army. The stage we should worry about is the stage where they are on earth. We should see them gnawing, swarming, devouring and consuming. (See Bullinger's notes in Companion Bible.) Most of which happens "under the soil" meaning most are not aware of it. The gnawers remnant is eaten by the swarmers. The swarmers remnant is eaten by the devourers and the devourers remnant is eaten by the consumers. Locusts can clear a crop. They take everything. That is the final stage on the earth's surface.
The four stages of a locust's life. Palmerworm refers to the gnawer, the Locust is the swarmer. The canker worm is the devourer. The caterpillar is the consumer. This is talking about the effect locusts have on nature. This is symbolic. There is a remnant that won't be devoured or consumed.
1:5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
Drunkards are spiritually asleep. There will be no "new wine" because the locusts cleared the crop. Be aware what is happening in the world cause the locusts will be on the earth.
Be sober, wake up, spiritually.
1:6 For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
The "nation", a "conspiracy," referring to the locust army. With teeth like a lion, tearing, with no compassion.
This nation is the one world system: Satan, the 7000 Nephilim and Kenites. Rev 9:8 is the same locust army.
1:7 He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
Completely bare, creating hard times. A good example being usury.
The vine is this nation, the true Israel. The one world system has "laid it to waste". These are not actual locusts, God told them not to touch any grass or green things, or trees (Rev 9). They are only allowed to touch those that do not have God's seal. These are Satan, Nephilim, and Kenites. We are talking about deception, the whole world is going to be deceived except the elect, the remnant. They will even take away the meat and drink offering. Think of Daniel 9:27 where the sacrifice and oblation is taken away, Holy Communion. When he appears as the Desolator (Skipping to Joel Chapter 2:1)
1:8 Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
Mark 13:17 Some are not virgins. 2nd Corinth chapter 11 Paul telling us to be chaste virgins. Spiritually speaking not carnal.
1:9 The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD's ministers, mourn.
In the NT when Christ brings the girl back to life He says to give her meat, not milk. Meat gives us wisdom to be able to sustain ourselves in these end times. To know that God has given us the victory and we have nothing to worry about. The famine of the end times will be for the Word of the Lord, not bread Amos 8.
1:10 The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
See what the "consumer" does, they clean house. It takes a long time to clean a crop, make sure you're watching. The oil will not languish if you anoint yourselves with the oil of our people.
1:11 Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
The husbandman, farmer, is supposed to be growing crops and the field is empty.
1:12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
Translate the word "men" Adam. Adam is supposed to be the vinedresser and the husbandmen. That is to say ha-adam.
1:13 Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
The truth is being withheld from the very house of God. Churches aren't teaching God's word line by line. Stick with the truth and the truth will set you free from the bondage of ignorant people. The offering God really wants is our love. Don't let anyone take your love offering away.
1:14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
A fast, not a feast. It's not time to celebrate. It's time to get real serious. Time to consult God. Acts 2:21 "whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
1:15 Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
The destruction here is for evil. The Lord's day is at hand. 2nd Peter 3:8 Don't be ignorant of this one thing, one day with the Lord is as a 1000 years with man. The seventh trump, evil ways will be done away with, scorched. God's cleaning will be much worse than the locusts'. 2nd Peter 3:10 "the elements (stoicheon in the Greek; rudiments of the earth; anything evil) shall melt with fervent heat." This is God's warning to us, it will happen.
1:16 Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
The deep truth is not being taught. Those who only teach one verse are cutting off the meat.
1:17 The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
Matthew 13 Jesus told us to get out and sow. Put it out there so people can reach it. Spread the seed of truth. This is why God created "ha-adam", the husbandmen.
1:18 How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
They are starving. The flock searching for pasture. Looking for "meat". Don't let something stop you from feeding the sheep.
1:19 O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
The spirit of the locust will devour unless you cry to the Lord. He will answer, He will bless you and allow you to feed the people.
1:20 The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
God will always provide a lush pasture for his children. Even during the time of the locusts.
2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
This is for the Fig tree generation in the last days. The alarm is the Word of God, His instructions on how to be pleasing to him and how to stay out of trouble. God will never give us more than we can handle. Sounding the trumpet means sound a message such as in war. A spiritual war.
Mountain is symbolic of "nation", Israel. Satan comes first and he will have a lot of company. This is futuristic, what part will we have in it?
2:2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
We're talking about people not actual locusts. God is going to bring an army against the people to show that He is God. This does not bother us because we have power over them. The smoke that comes out of the pit is in Rev. 9.
The darkness is the swarm of locusts, "great people" are the locusts, not insects.
2:3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
This is what evil spirits can do to a people. Like a lush garden being destroyed. We have power over them in the Lord's name.
The "fire" is the northern army.
2:4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
Horses signifies strength.
Rev. 9:7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 9:8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9:9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 9:10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
This is the fifth seal, where we are supposed to be sounding the trumpet that Satan is coming. The locusts are like horsemen. Their faces are as men, not actual locusts. The hair of women means they look nice and righteous, but they are misleading. Their teeth like lions to tear. Don't forget Jesus told us there would be many coming in his name but they are deceivers. They are a great army. Verse 10 tell us they will be here for 5 months. In verse 4 we're told they can't touch those that have the Seal of God because we have power over them. Scorpions will turn a person's back bone into mush, they will be spineless, wimps, spiritually speaking. Verse 11 tells us the name of their king, Satan. Abaddon means "the destroyer" Apollyon is the prime root of Satan's name in the Greek tongue meaning also "the destroyer". God tells us everything. We are to take this warning and be ready for the controversy and the battle. A spiritual battle. They can't hurt us, God takes care of his own. Just like the 3 Hebrews in the fiery furnace. Don't let fear come into your heart with this locust army. We have the victory.
This is better translated as "war horses" Their power is in their mouths (lies), and their tails (stings). The world is going to be deceived by their stings turning their backbones into mush. We need to be mentally and spiritually prepared. Satan is not alone, there will be 7000 Nephilim along with him. Don't let your backbone be turned to mush, we need to be able to stand and testify.
Joel 2:5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
They cry "peace peace". There will be no peace. When the 6th trump sounds and Satan and his friends come we better be ready. That's why He's telling us now, sound the alarm, be ready, gospel armor on.
Ezekiel 1 tell us of chariots also, vehicles in the sky. God controls this army also.
2:6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
Because they don't know what's going on, but we do. Blackness should be translated "paleness". They are going to turn pale.
2:7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
This is the army coming against us. Many of them are supernatural, that's what is deceiving to most. Make sure you know about Luke 21 and being delivered up, but they cannot touch one hair on our heads.
Their objective is deceit. They will come in peaceful and prosperous, they will be convincing and organized.
2:8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
They're not going to be stopped. The sword is the two-edged sword of the Word of God. This is a spiritual war, choose between God or Satan.
They will not get in each other's way. Physically, if you fall on a sword and you don't get wounded, that means your supernatural. Spiritually the sword is the two-edged sword, the truth. It will not stop them. Why? They're already doomed, Jude 1:6 everlasting chains into darkness. They're going to try to take as many as they can with them.
2:9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
These are men, not insects.
Who's up on the houses? Watchmen! They're going to come after the watchmen. 1st Thess. 5:3,4 that day shall come upon us as a thief in the night.
2:10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
We're coming up to Matthew 24 before the seventh trump.
This prophecy concerns future. Matthew 24:29 the stars fall. Rev 6:12,13 the sixth seal, the morning star, Lucifer, falls.
2:11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
God's army is very great. He is in control of both armies, so we have nothing to worry about. We can abide it because we are forewarned.
Satan, the Nephilim and the Kenites are God's army. Those with the gospel armor can abide it. The Lord is our strength, our trust is in Him. We have power over them in the name of Christ.
2:12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
We will weep and mourn for the unlearned, those that we are supposed to help. Even when they are against us, we should help them.
The elect will be doing a lot of weeping and mourning because of all the deception. Lots of seed has fallen on stony ground. God has a reason for it.
2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
Rend your heart, clean your mind. He's going to take care of us, He loves us. Prepare our minds and accept the truth. Be ready. 2nd Peter 3 God hopes all His children will come to repentance.
The rending of garments is a sign of repentance, outward. The rending of your heart/mind is a true repentance of your inner-being. Exodus 34:6; 2nd Peter 3:9. It is not God's will that any of His children perish.
2:14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
If we hang in there and keep sowing the Word of God, that's what the trumpet is for, who knows if we will lead someone to Him and bring them to repentance.
Don't let that taking away of the meat and drink offering stop you.
2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
A fast, not a feast. A solemn assembly, a day of restraint. Be serious in God's Word. Rend your heart and absorb the truth.
2:16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
Gather everyone. Normally children did not attend weddings at this time. So, we know this is a special wedding. The return of Christ. Some will be too late, and will be turned away. Be forewarned, that's what this book is about.
No one is exempt from this.
2:17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
Not Satan's priests, but the Lord's. God does not like the heathen to rule over his children. They are Godless. He wants the heathen to learn from the priests that He is God. Joel meaning "YHVH IS GOD." God wants them to come to repentance. The duty of the priest/teacher is to do exactly what God wants them to do: Sound the trumpet (Ch 2:1). The warning that antichrist is coming first. The unbelievers will see how God takes care of his children.
Ministers of the Lord, not Satan's. Do you fall into this category? "Between the porch and the altar" immediately before the Holy place. When Satan, the Nephilim and the Kenites are all here and deceiving the world, they will be asking us "where is your God?" Don't be dismayed, help is on the way.
2:18 Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.
That is the last sentence of the Song of Moses, Deut. 32:43. The song that those that overcome will sing. God is a jealous God. This is God's creation and look at the destruction that has occurred on His land.
Exodus 34:14, Our Father's name is jealous.
2:19 Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
After the wedding of verse 16, God will dwell with us, no one will have to prove anything anymore. He will dwell with us.
This is all spiritual. Oil is symbolic of Truth.
2:20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
In the north, is Esau, Russia. To the east is Alaska. This "stink" is written in Ezekiel 39:11:
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
Hamongog means "the multitude of God." This happens immediately before the Return of Christ, the 7th trump.
The "northern army" is the locust army. The east sea is the Dead Sea. The "utmost sea" is the great sea. Same even in Ezekiel 39:11. The battle of Hamangog. We are not involved in this battle, this is when Christ comes down.
2:21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.
If we have the faith. Sound the trumpet, the false messiah is coming.
2:22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
We're not talking about locusts here. We're talking about Satan's people and the 4 hidden dynasties: political, economic, education, and religious. That's why we should study God's word to learn how to discern.
2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
Moderately: just right. The word "month" is italicized, it's not in the manuscripts. It should be "he will bring the latter rain as he did in the first former rain".The former rain sprouts seed. The latter rain matures it. This does not happen in the same month. It will rain moderately to help you separate lies from truth. "Sound the alarm or God will put you out of business, period!" We're in that generation. To some this does not matter, other's should know better. We are warned.
Think spiritual. The complete deception of the world, there is no truth. God will make it as it was before the locusts.
2:24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
For those that serve God, we will be blessed. The wine and oil will be restored after being taken away by the locusts.
2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
God's great army, the locust army. But, we have nothing to fear. Rev 9:4. God gives permission to Satan to do what he wants but NOT touch God's children. Satan cannot tempt those that know the truth.
God has control of that army.
2:26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
Do you praise God when credit is due? Or do you praise yourselves? God's people should never be ashamed. Serve God, sound the alarm, teach His word chapter by chapter, verse by verse. He will bless you.
Some will be wishing for mountains to fall on them.
2:27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
"Never be ashamed" Twice for emphasis. Serve God.
Joel means "YHVH is God". Antichrist will be claiming to be God.
2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
"Pour out my spirit upon ALL flesh", by sounding the alarm. This is referring to being delivered up as in Mark 13, Matthew 24, Luke 21. Sons and daughters both.
This is after antichrist arrives with the locust army. How will we communicate to "all flesh". This is about Pentecost day, that cloven tongue. This is that which was spoken by Joel the prophet, Acts 2.
2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
Men and women both.
Everyone in the world will understand.
2:30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.
This is mentioned in Acts 2:6-8,14-20 on Pentecost day:
Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 2:7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Are you part of that remnant? The remnant is supposed to sound the alarm as in verse 1 of this chapter.
This is better translated "in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance of the remnant" That remnant that will not be devoured, not be consumed by that locust army.

In the NT when Christ brings the girl back to life He says to give her meat, not milk. Meat gives us wisdom to be able to sustain ourselves in these end times. To know that God has given us the victory and we have nothing to worry about. The famine of the end times will be for the Word of the Lord, not bread Amos 8.
1:10 The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
See what the "consumer" does, they clean house. It takes a long time to clean a crop, make sure you're watching. The oil will not languish if you anoint yourselves with the oil of our people.
1:11 Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
The husbandman, farmer, is supposed to be growing crops and the field is empty.
1:12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
Translate the word "men" Adam. Adam is supposed to be the vinedresser and the husbandmen. That is to say ha-adam.
1:13 Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
The truth is being withheld from the very house of God. Churches aren't teaching God's word line by line. Stick with the truth and the truth will set you free from the bondage of ignorant people. The offering God really wants is our love. Don't let anyone take your love offering away.
1:14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
A fast, not a feast. It's not time to celebrate. It's time to get real serious. Time to consult God. Acts 2:21 "whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
1:15 Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
The destruction here is for evil. The Lord's day is at hand. 2nd Peter 3:8 Don't be ignorant of this one thing, one day with the Lord is as a 1000 years with man. The seventh trump, evil ways will be done away with, scorched. God's cleaning will be much worse than the locusts'. 2nd Peter 3:10 "the elements (stoicheon in the Greek; rudiments of the earth; anything evil) shall melt with fervent heat." This is God's warning to us, it will happen.
1:16 Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
The deep truth is not being taught. Those who only teach one verse are cutting off the meat.
1:17 The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
Matthew 13 Jesus told us to get out and sow. Put it out there so people can reach it. Spread the seed of truth. This is why God created "ha-adam", the husbandmen.
1:18 How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
They are starving. The flock searching for pasture. Looking for "meat". Don't let something stop you from feeding the sheep.
1:19 O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
The spirit of the locust will devour unless you cry to the Lord. He will answer, He will bless you and allow you to feed the people.
1:20 The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
God will always provide a lush pasture for his children. Even during the time of the locusts.
2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
This is for the Fig tree generation in the last days. The alarm is the Word of God, His instructions on how to be pleasing to him and how to stay out of trouble. God will never give us more than we can handle. Sounding the trumpet means sound a message such as in war. A spiritual war.
Mountain is symbolic of "nation", Israel. Satan comes first and he will have a lot of company. This is futuristic, what part will we have in it?
2:2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
We're talking about people not actual locusts. God is going to bring an army against the people to show that He is God. This does not bother us because we have power over them. The smoke that comes out of the pit is in Rev. 9.
The darkness is the swarm of locusts, "great people" are the locusts, not insects.
2:3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
This is what evil spirits can do to a people. Like a lush garden being destroyed. We have power over them in the Lord's name.
The "fire" is the northern army.
2:4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
Horses signifies strength.
Rev. 9:7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 9:8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9:9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 9:10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
This is the fifth seal, where we are supposed to be sounding the trumpet that Satan is coming. The locusts are like horsemen. Their faces are as men, not actual locusts. The hair of women means they look nice and righteous, but they are misleading. Their teeth like lions to tear. Don't forget Jesus told us there would be many coming in his name but they are deceivers. They are a great army. Verse 10 tell us they will be here for 5 months. In verse 4 we're told they can't touch those that have the Seal of God because we have power over them. Scorpions will turn a person's back bone into mush, they will be spineless, wimps, spiritually speaking. Verse 11 tells us the name of their king, Satan. Abaddon means "the destroyer" Apollyon is the prime root of Satan's name in the Greek tongue meaning also "the destroyer". God tells us everything. We are to take this warning and be ready for the controversy and the battle. A spiritual battle. They can't hurt us, God takes care of his own. Just like the 3 Hebrews in the fiery furnace. Don't let fear come into your heart with this locust army. We have the victory.
This is better translated as "war horses" Their power is in their mouths (lies), and their tails (stings). The world is going to be deceived by their stings turning their backbones into mush. We need to be mentally and spiritually prepared. Satan is not alone, there will be 7000 Nephilim along with him. Don't let your backbone be turned to mush, we need to be able to stand and testify.
Joel 2:5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
They cry "peace peace". There will be no peace. When the 6th trump sounds and Satan and his friends come we better be ready. That's why He's telling us now, sound the alarm, be ready, gospel armor on.
Ezekiel 1 tell us of chariots also, vehicles in the sky. God controls this army also.
2:6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
Because they don't know what's going on, but we do. Blackness should be translated "paleness". They are going to turn pale.
2:7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
This is the army coming against us. Many of them are supernatural, that's what is deceiving to most. Make sure you know about Luke 21 and being delivered up, but they cannot touch one hair on our heads.
Their objective is deceit. They will come in peaceful and prosperous, they will be convincing and organized.
2:8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
They're not going to be stopped. The sword is the two-edged sword of the Word of God. This is a spiritual war, choose between God or Satan.
They will not get in each other's way. Physically, if you fall on a sword and you don't get wounded, that means your supernatural. Spiritually the sword is the two-edged sword, the truth. It will not stop them. Why? They're already doomed, Jude 1:6 everlasting chains into darkness. They're going to try to take as many as they can with them.
2:9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
These are men, not insects.
Who's up on the houses? Watchmen! They're going to come after the watchmen. 1st Thess. 5:3,4 that day shall come upon us as a thief in the night.
2:10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
We're coming up to Matthew 24 before the seventh trump.
This prophecy concerns future. Matthew 24:29 the stars fall. Rev 6:12,13 the sixth seal, the morning star, Lucifer, falls.
2:11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
God's army is very great. He is in control of both armies, so we have nothing to worry about. We can abide it because we are forewarned.
Satan, the Nephilim and the Kenites are God's army. Those with the gospel armor can abide it. The Lord is our strength, our trust is in Him. We have power over them in the name of Christ.
2:12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
We will weep and mourn for the unlearned, those that we are supposed to help. Even when they are against us, we should help them.
The elect will be doing a lot of weeping and mourning because of all the deception. Lots of seed has fallen on stony ground. God has a reason for it.
2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
Rend your heart, clean your mind. He's going to take care of us, He loves us. Prepare our minds and accept the truth. Be ready. 2nd Peter 3 God hopes all His children will come to repentance.
The rending of garments is a sign of repentance, outward. The rending of your heart/mind is a true repentance of your inner-being. Exodus 34:6; 2nd Peter 3:9. It is not God's will that any of His children perish.
2:14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
If we hang in there and keep sowing the Word of God, that's what the trumpet is for, who knows if we will lead someone to Him and bring them to repentance.
Don't let that taking away of the meat and drink offering stop you.
2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
A fast, not a feast. A solemn assembly, a day of restraint. Be serious in God's Word. Rend your heart and absorb the truth.
2:16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
Gather everyone. Normally children did not attend weddings at this time. So, we know this is a special wedding. The return of Christ. Some will be too late, and will be turned away. Be forewarned, that's what this book is about.
No one is exempt from this.
2:17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
Not Satan's priests, but the Lord's. God does not like the heathen to rule over his children. They are Godless. He wants the heathen to learn from the priests that He is God. Joel meaning "YHVH IS GOD." God wants them to come to repentance. The duty of the priest/teacher is to do exactly what God wants them to do: Sound the trumpet (Ch 2:1). The warning that antichrist is coming first. The unbelievers will see how God takes care of his children.
Ministers of the Lord, not Satan's. Do you fall into this category? "Between the porch and the altar" immediately before the Holy place. When Satan, the Nephilim and the Kenites are all here and deceiving the world, they will be asking us "where is your God?" Don't be dismayed, help is on the way.
2:18 Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.
That is the last sentence of the Song of Moses, Deut. 32:43. The song that those that overcome will sing. God is a jealous God. This is God's creation and look at the destruction that has occurred on His land.
Exodus 34:14, Our Father's name is jealous.
2:19 Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
After the wedding of verse 16, God will dwell with us, no one will have to prove anything anymore. He will dwell with us.
This is all spiritual. Oil is symbolic of Truth.
2:20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
In the north, is Esau, Russia. To the east is Alaska. This "stink" is written in Ezekiel 39:11:
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
Hamongog means "the multitude of God." This happens immediately before the Return of Christ, the 7th trump.
The "northern army" is the locust army. The east sea is the Dead Sea. The "utmost sea" is the great sea. Same even in Ezekiel 39:11. The battle of Hamangog. We are not involved in this battle, this is when Christ comes down.
2:21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.
If we have the faith. Sound the trumpet, the false messiah is coming.
2:22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
We're not talking about locusts here. We're talking about Satan's people and the 4 hidden dynasties: political, economic, education, and religious. That's why we should study God's word to learn how to discern.
2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
Moderately: just right. The word "month" is italicized, it's not in the manuscripts. It should be "he will bring the latter rain as he did in the first former rain".The former rain sprouts seed. The latter rain matures it. This does not happen in the same month. It will rain moderately to help you separate lies from truth. "Sound the alarm or God will put you out of business, period!" We're in that generation. To some this does not matter, other's should know better. We are warned.
Think spiritual. The complete deception of the world, there is no truth. God will make it as it was before the locusts.
2:24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
For those that serve God, we will be blessed. The wine and oil will be restored after being taken away by the locusts.
2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
God's great army, the locust army. But, we have nothing to fear. Rev 9:4. God gives permission to Satan to do what he wants but NOT touch God's children. Satan cannot tempt those that know the truth.
God has control of that army.
2:26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
Do you praise God when credit is due? Or do you praise yourselves? God's people should never be ashamed. Serve God, sound the alarm, teach His word chapter by chapter, verse by verse. He will bless you.
Some will be wishing for mountains to fall on them.
2:27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
"Never be ashamed" Twice for emphasis. Serve God.
Joel means "YHVH is God". Antichrist will be claiming to be God.
2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
"Pour out my spirit upon ALL flesh", by sounding the alarm. This is referring to being delivered up as in Mark 13, Matthew 24, Luke 21. Sons and daughters both.
This is after antichrist arrives with the locust army. How will we communicate to "all flesh". This is about Pentecost day, that cloven tongue. This is that which was spoken by Joel the prophet, Acts 2.
2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
Men and women both.
Everyone in the world will understand.
2:30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.
This is mentioned in Acts 2:6-8,14-20 on Pentecost day:

Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Are you part of that remnant? The remnant is supposed to sound the alarm as in verse 1 of this chapter.
This is better translated "in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance of the remnant" That remnant that will not be devoured, not be consumed by that locust army.
