my kids were invited to vacation bible school at a local church,so i taged along.me and my wife were brought into the adults class and started playing bible bingo. nice and fun, but every now and then the preacher would say things that i knew were not right.one of the things he said was that the reason it got dark when Jesus was crusified was that God turned his back on the son. now i know about psalm 22 and that Jesus taught this from the cross,i also know that satan acts in the darkness.but what im looking for is, somewhere in the new testament were jesus may have said "father will never leave me"or something equal to that.if there exists such a scripture, it will put this issue to rest.

Hi Timpler,

This is a common blasphemous teaching in the churches today. Isnt that sad? As for God forsaking Christ, it is nonsense and is blasphmeous, but many churches continue to teach this. It just goes to show their ignorance. Christ was the Living Word, Christ was Emmanuel, God With Us. Christ could have called down thousands of angels to get him off that cross, he could have stopped his crucifixion at any time, but He knew what He was here to fulfill and do. Along with this false teaching, they also teach that when Christ was talking to Father that he asked this cup to be passed from him and that he was having a weak moment about the crucifixion and what was to happen. This is absolutely false too. What Christ was talking about was the cup of wrath that he will pour out when he returns to rule with an iron rod and not to be a lamb slain.

A great verse to document what Christ knew he was to do and fulfill is in Matthew 16:23. Christ was explaining to 3 of the disciples that he would be crucified and would return. Peter stated that he would not allow them to kill Christ and Christ said to Peter, Get behind Thee satan!! This proves Christ was here to fulfill being the Lamb Slain and to fulfill the prophecy of the Messiah and for the salvation of all. He had no doubts and Father never forsake him, for Christ was God With Us, the Living word. (Jhn 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Christ was the Logos, the Living Word.

Mat 16:21 ¶ From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

Mat 16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

If He would not abandon us, He would not abandon Yeshua. He promised. He keeps His promises. To teach otherwise is to teach a lie. The CB says oud ou me. The strongest negative possible. By no means would He let go of those that are His.

John 16:32

32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

this verse does not show that JESUS was to be forsaken by his FATHER, man forsaken HIM but not YHVH. in CHRIST, yaka.

Jer 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
