Gen. 3:16 Often times, "the Law" is a reference to the Pentateuch. The Book of the Law.

Someone came up to me and showed me these verses

1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1Ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

It appears they had a problem in Corinth regarding some wives speaking outloud to their husbands, asking querstions or whatever while the community meeting was going on, and Paul was telling them to hold the questions to later. Isn't the verse about the meeting being held decently and in order also in this epistle?

people risked their lives to hear the word back then, people was chattering during the teaching, asking others questions and talking between themselves during the person on the pulpit spoke. it didn't concern the one speaking at the pulpit, it was the congregation that was chattering. causing disorder.

if there is a man whom is well learned in the bible and can teach they should lead. but if the men are following traditions or lacking understanding then a woman should take the...

I still do not understand though... " for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. " I don't know if I'm missing something here.. but seems that according to these two verses alone I should keep my mouth shut at church. How can this be...

Hi Lisa,

I use this website to look up scripture that I cant remember the actual verse or chapter. You just put in the words that you know are in the verse and it brings all scripture up with those words in it. It is a great tool. Hope this helps!

Women cannot speak during a church service? What was the bible passage again... Something about how a woman is to ask her HUSBAND about something rather than speaking during church. What's up with this? How come? Where in Bible is it anyways? - I remember it but can't seem to find it first-hand. Someone referred to this passage when claiming women should not be leaders in churches.
